13.6 acresA prime site in Dorchester has traded hands, raising speculation that a major project is in store for near the JFK/UMass Red Line stop.Beacon Capital Partners, an investment group whose Boston assets include the One Beacon Street commercial skyscraper, paid nearly $73.73 million for a 13.6-acre site bounded roughly by Morrissey Boulevard, Mt. Vernon Street, and Columbia Point. Were Beacon Capital to build on the site, the firm’s project would join at least two large-scale developments just to the north of the area: Washington Village in Southie’s Andrew Square (rendered above) and the 10-acre addition to the South Bay Town Center.There’s an office building on the 13.6-acre site right now.
