QUINCY – Will the former Quincy Medical Center property be home to a hospital again? Who’s going to be renting the property? Will the site be used for apartments? Those were some of the many questions Quincy residents asked representatives of FoxRock Properties at a community meeting Tuesday night. FoxRock bought the former hospital site at 114 Whitwell St. last month.

Company members Chet Clem, Jason Ward and Chris Reale addressed the audience, saying that the company specializes in medical and educational uses. Quincy-based FoxRock has built the South Shore Educational Collaborative in Hingham and the Longwood medical complex in Norwell. The company is looking for local input on what should become of the former medical center building.

“This is likely the most important project we’re ever going to work on,” Ward said.In response to several questions from the crowd of about 100, Reale said that while the company could turn a significant portion of the property into apartments or condos, that’s not the plan right now.”That’s not in our DNA,” he said. The company builds and owns medical properties, so that’s what it’s going to do here, he said.
